Following the award of grant funding from Yorkshire Agricultural Society, we have been able to appoint Support Workers in 4 Districts around the County.
These Support Workers have been tasked with supporting Clubs and Districts, increasing knowledge of YFC within Clubs and facilitating a wide range of activities with fun, learning and achievement.
They are busy helping with:
- Running meetings
- Planning events
- Officer training
- Club leader training
- Recruitment and retention
- Understanding “how YFC works”
The Support Worker Team members are:
Ebor – Rachael Harrison.
Rachael is an ex Derwent YFC member and was previously a YFYFC field worker. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Rachael is the “go-to” person for all things YFC.
Ryedale – John Craddock.
John was Yorkshire County Chairman in year 2017/18. Together with his current role as Yorkshire Show Chairman, John loves all things YFC – and we are very grateful for his efforts! He even finds time to play cricket, but he is actually a full-time farmer.
Settle – Sarah Leach
Sarah has been a life -long member of YFYFC and former County Chairman, as well as being a Northern Area Chairman. An experienced public speaking and stock-judging coach, Sarah is well placed to support members in Settle Clubs.
Went Valley – Cath Battye
Cath has been connected with Cawthorne YFC for many years, having been both Club Leader and President. Cath has also been a former County Administrator, offering her knowledge and expertise to members around the County.
We are grateful to our Support Workers for their hard work and also to Yorkshire Agricultural Society, who have made this project possible.
