Northern Area
What is it?
Northern Area is the next level up the ‘YFC Tree’ following County qualifiers. Northern Area hosts 3 events per Year for various Competitions. These are:
Northern Area Weekend (Spring 2027 hosted by Cumbria FYFC)
Northern Area Field Day (June 2026 hosted by Northumberland FYFC)
Northern Area Stockman of the Year (June 2026 hosted by Lancashire FYFC)

Northern Area Field Day
Date: Saturday 13th June 2026
Venue: Middle Ord Farm, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 2XQ

Northern Area Stockman of the Year
Date: Saturday 27th June 2026
Venue: Clitheroe Auction Mart, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1QD

National
What is it?
National is the final part of the YFC puzzle and the top level of Competitions. NFYFC host 33 National Finals each year at various venues. Some qualify direct from County and others have a Northern Area round to qualify through first.

NFYFC Live and Carcase Finals
Date: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2026
Venue: English Winter Fair, Staffordshire County Showground

Performing Arts and Member of the Year Finals
Date: April 2027
Venue: To be confirmed
Timings: TBC.
NFYFC Competitions Day
Date: Saturday 4th July 2026
Venue: Staffordshire County Showground, Stafford, ST18 0BD
(Except Clay Pigeon Shoot which is at Oakedge Shooting Ground – Details below)
Timings: Various (Dependent on Competition, see specific information below)
This day bring together a variety of competitions.
Competitions for 2026: Junior Reading, Junior Public Speaking, Intermediate Brainstrust, Senior Mace Debate, Intermediate Situations Vacant, Senior Situations Vacant, Show Choir, Commercial Dance, Auctioneering, Cube Exhibit, Farm Machinery Skills, Fence Erecting, and Clay Pigeon Shooting.
Competitors Information is below for events where we have a Yorkshire qualifier.
NFYFC Sports Day
Date: Sunday 5th July 2026
Venue: Denstone Hall College, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire
Timings: Various (Dependent on Competition, see specific information below)
This day hosts all NFYFC sports finals which in 2026 are:
10-12 Mixed Rounders
13-16 Mixed Dodgeball
17-28 Mixed Hockey
NFYFC @ GYS
NFYFC Finals come to our home County for Sheep Shearing and Dairy Stock Judging at the Great Yorkshire Show!
Date: Tuesday 14th July (Shearing) / Friday 17th July (Dairy Judging)
Venue: Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, HG2 8NZ

NFYFC Tug of War
Date: Saturday 1st August 2026
Venue: Tenbury Showground, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, WR15 8AR
Timings: TBC.
This event brings together the 3 Tug of War classes that qualify from Northern Area Field Day: 12-17 GENSB, Ladies and Men’s.
NFYFC Stock Judge of the Year
Date: Saturday 29th (Senior Stock Judge only) and Sunday 30th August 2026
Young Stock Judge also has an online Meat ID and Questionnaire: Thursday 27th August, 7pm via Zoom/Teams

NFYFC Cookery and Floral Art
