A member is at the root of the YFC tree. Members will join a local club. Competing age for members is between 10 and 28. Adult volunteers who are called Club Leaders are elected, also help with club activities and in offering support to the members running the club. All decision making is made by the members.

Clubs
Club meetings are usually weekly and are organised and run by YFC members themselves. The Club elects Club Officers annually to take responsibility for the Club on behalf of its members and organise the activities that members take part in. Weekly meetings can range from talks and visits to preparing for competitions or fundraising for charity.
Districts
Yorkshire covers the largest geographical area in England and Wales. As such Clubs are grouped into nine Districts that organise competitions, fundraising and social events on a local scale. Districts are a great way for local Clubs to share ideas and meet new people from neighbouring Clubs.
Counties
All these Clubs and Districts form the County Federation. Every Club and District elect members to represent them on the County Committee to organise and run the Yorkshire Federation (YFYFC). Yorkshire is one of the seven County Federations that make up the Northern Area.
- Yorkshire Federation
- Northumberland Federation
- Cumbria Federation
- Durham Federation
- Lancashire Federation
- Isle of Man Federation
- East Riding Federation
Areas
The Northern Area is then joined by another six areas covering England and Wales to form the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs.
