Farnley Estate win County Rally 2017

HARROGATE District club Farnley Estate took top honours at the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFYFC) county rally.

The event was held by kind permission of Thirsk Farmers’ Auction Mart and saw clubs from the length and breadth of Yorkshire battle it out in everything from traditional competitions such as stock judging through to more novelty events like limbo and the YFC’s very own version of the television programme I’m a Celebrity’s infamous BushtuckerTrial.

Second place club honours went to Penistone, with Reeth taking third. Cledales, an area which covers from Thirsk up to Northallerton and across to Reeth and Aysgarth, was the district with the most overall points.

After the prizegiving the annual ‘rally do’ was held, with the young farmers swapping their work boots for dancing shoes.
