County Stockman

What is it?

County Stockman is a competition held each year that travels around the county trying to find the best young and senior stock person in Yorkshire. Stock Judging is the key element to this competition.

Members are broken up into small groups and then rotate around judging the following classes and an Animal Health Questionnaire:
– Beef
– Breeding Ewes
– Butchers Lambs
– Dairy
– Pigs

Seniors usually judge pens of 6 animals, and Juniors judge pens of 4 animals.

If you do well, the top 12 from each age group go through to the Northern Area and National events.
